Anti-Ultraviolet Radiation Good Toughness Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Tubing
This is the workhorse of our carbon fiber tubing products. The majority of our unidirectional tubes are comprised of 0° and 90-degree plies with an occasional layup deploying ±45° plies, but we also offer pultruded uni tubes. While almost all of our roll-wrapped tubes have underlying layers of unidirectional carbon fiber, this carbon tubing product line has the outermost layer of unidirectional fiber instead of a woven fabric. We offer cutting and sanding services for most of our tubes. NOTE: Generally 10 plies of a standard modulus fiber = a wall thickness of 0.060".
What is unidirectional carbon fiber?
Unidirectional carbon fiber fabric is a type of carbon reinforcement that is non-woven and features all fibers running in a single, parallel direction. With this style of fabric, there are no gaps between fibers, and those fibers lay flat.
What is the difference between unidirectional and bidirectional fiber?
A unidirectional optical fiber cable can only transmit data in one direction, either from the transmitter to the receiver or from the receiver to the transmitter. In contrast, a bidirectional optical fiber cable can transmit data in both directions simultaneously, using different wavelengths of light.
Is carbon fiber directional?
For an easy analogy, think of a piece of wood. The strength of wood is dependent on the orientation of the grain. This is true with carbon fiber – the strength of the carbon fiber is dependent on the orientation of the fiber (grain).
What are the advantages of unidirectional fibres?
